MAX6: An Application to Control Vector Network Analyzer
MAX6 is a free Android application that enables users to take full control of a MAX6 Vector Network Analyzer. This application is still in beta, and the developers, Dan Toma and Jarek, welcome user feedback to improve it further. MAX6 supports both 180MHz and 500MHz MAX6 versions and is compatible with all smartphones and tablets with a resolution between 320x240 and 1920x1080, based on Android version 2.2 or higher. The application can connect over USB or Bluetooth and can display all the parameter values at the marker position. Calibration data is saved in the configuration file for each mode, and the offline mode support allows you to load and/or save vectorial data without connecting to a MAX6. Users can export data in CSV, ZPLOT or S1P format. MAX6 offers features like SM6ENG audio mode, MAX6 battery voltage indicator, and impedance scale zoom in 3 steps. It also has reflection (antenna) and transmission modes support and frequency generator mode. MAX6 is an easy-to-use application with an intuitive interface and provides users with all the necessary features to control a MAX6 Vector Network Analyzer.
